Bio

Bev graduated from Capilano College Commercial Art Program in 1980. Her attendance at college marks the only time since her birth in Victoria that she has lived away Vancouver Island. As a child she had the opportunity to explore the island on the numerous family trips over the years. Her parents were always care to identify and explain the significance of the many points of interest along the way to their children. Days spent at Botanical Beach, Goldstream Park, Tofino, and China Beach have special significance for her now as she revisists fond memories and renders them into lovely soft pasted paintings of sea and landscapes. Shapes of land masses, textures of the forest and the crash of the surf are all apart of her creations.

Bev worked as a commercial artist/illustrator for major studios in Victoria until the birth of her daughter in 1990. During this time she also produced commissioned works of animal portraiture and developed images of well-known island scenes that have become so very popular among those familiar with her work. Bev still finds time to pursue her exploration of art, working mainly in soft pastel and pen & ink. Her paintings are available online, in Vancouver Island Galleries and shops, and at her home studio in Cobble Hill.
